Clutch Pedal: Removal

CAUTION:
Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.
- Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.
- Drain the brake fluid. Ref. to CLUTCH SYSTEM>CLUTCH FLUID .
- Disconnect the vacuum pipe & hose assembly.
- Remove the clutch pipe.CAUTION: Be careful not to spill the brake fluid. Brake fluid spilled on the vehicle body will harm the paint surface; wash it off with water and wipe clean quickly if spilled.
- Disconnect the clutch pipe.
- Remove the two-way connector and the clutch connector bracket.
- Disconnect the tank hose from the clutch pipe.
- Remove the instrument panel lower cover. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER> REMOVAL .
- Remove the steering column. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING COLUMN>REMOVAL .
- Remove the duct - foot driver. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>HEATER DUCT>REMOVAL>FOOT>LH SIDE .
- Disconnect the connector from the clutch switch and clutch start switch.
- Disconnect the connector from stop light switch.
- Remove the snap pin and clevis pin connecting the operating rod and brake pedal.
- Remove the clutch pedal assembly.CAUTION: Place vinyl, etc. in order not to drop the brake fluid to the floor carpet.
