Clutch Pedal: Installation

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. Install the clutch pedal assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    18 N.m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.3 ft-lb)

  2. Install the snap pin and clevis pin connecting the operating rod and brake pedal.
    CAUTION: Always use a new clevis pin.
    NOTE: Apply grease to the clevis pin.
  3. Connect the connector to the stop light switch.
  4. Connect the connector to the clutch switch and clutch start switch.
  5. Install the duct - foot driver. Ref. to AIR CONDITIONER (EXCEPT FOR HEV)>HEATER DUCT>INSTALLATION>FOOT>LH SIDE .
  6. Install the steering column. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING COLUMN>INSTALLATION .
  7. Connect the tank hose.

  8. Temporarily install the two-way connector and the clutch connector bracket, and engage the clutch pipe.

  9. Install the two-way connector and the clutch connector bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  10. Tighten the clutch pipe.

    Tightening torque: 

    15 N.m (1.5 kgf-m, 11.1 ft-lb)

  11. Install the clutch pipe.

  12. Install the vacuum pipe & hose assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8 kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lb)

  13. Add the recommended brake fluid. Ref. to CLUTCH SYSTEM>CLUTCH FLUID .
  14. After bleeding air from the clutch system, ensure that no fluid leaks and the clutch operates properly. Ref. to CLUTCH SYSTEM>CLUTCH FLUID AIR BLEEDING>PROCEDURE .
  15. Adjust the clutch pedal. Ref. to CLUTCH SYSTEM>CLUTCH PEDAL>ADJUSTMENT .
  16. Install the instrument panel lower cover. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>INSTALLATION .
  17. Install the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR INTAKE BOOT>INSTALLATION .
  18. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  19. Check the clutch start system.
