Second-Row Seat Belt Warning Light Does Not Illuminate
- CHECK FUNCTION
.
- Sit at each position of the second-row seat.
- Fasten and detach the second-row seat belt buckle.
Does the seat belt warning light display vary according to the operation of the seat belt buckle?
Yes: It may be a temporary poor contact. Check the contacting condition of harness and connector.
No: Go to 2.
- CHECK DATA MONITOR
.
- Sit at each position of the second-row seat.
- Using Subaru Select Monitor, select [Data monitor] and display the data of [Rear side (right) seat belt state], [Rear side (center) seatbelt state] and [Rear side (left) seat belt state]. Ref. to COMBINATION METER (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
- Fasten and detach the second-row seat belt buckle at each position, and read the data of the seat belt switch.
Does the display vary according to the operation of the seat belt buckle?
Yes: Go to 5.
No: Go to 3.
- CHECK SECOND-ROW SEATING SENSOR MAT
.
Check the second-row seating sensor mat. Ref. to SEAT BELT SYSTEM>Second Seat Belt>INSPECTION>CHECK SEATING SENSOR MAT .
Is the inspection result normal?
Yes: Go to 4.
No: Replace the second-row seating sensor mat together with the seat pad assembly cushion rear.
- CHECK SECOND-RAW SEAT BELT BUCKLE SWITCH
.
Perform unit inspection for second-row seat belt switches. Ref. to SEAT BELT SYSTEM>Second Seat Belt>INSPECTION>CHECK SECOND-ROW SEAT BELT SWITCH .
Is the check result OK?
Yes: Go to 5.
No: Replace the defective seat belt INN.
- CHECK HAZARD SWITCH ASSEMBLY POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE
.
- Disconnect the hazard switch assembly connector.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Measure the input voltage of the hazard switch assembly.

(i333) No. 10 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
(i333) No. 9 (+) - Chassis ground (-):
Is the voltage 10 V or more?
Yes: Go to 6.
No: Repair or replace the harness.
- CHECK GROUND CIRCUIT OF HAZARD SWITCH ASSEMBLY
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Measure the resistance between the hazard switch assembly and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(i333) No. 16 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes: Go to 7.
No: Repair or replace the harness.
- CHECK HARNESS BETWEEN HAZARD SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND COMBINATION METER
.
- Disconnect the harness of the hazard switch assembly and combination meter.
- Measure the resistance between the hazard switch assembly and combination meter.
Connector & terminal
(i333) No. 14 - (i10) No. 12:
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes: Go to 8.
No: Repair or replace the harness.
- CHECK HARNESS
.
- Disconnect the combination meter connector and the second-row seat belt buckle switch connector.
- Check for short circuit to battery, open circuit and short circuit to ground between the combination meter and the second-row seat belt buckle switch.

Is the harness normal?
Yes: Go to 9.
No: Repair or replace the harness.
- CHECK HAZARD SWITCH ASSEMBLY AND COMBINATION METER
.
- Remove the hazard switch assembly, and install a properly operating hazard switch assembly (new hazard switch assembly).
- Connect the connector and then turn the ignition switch to ON.
Is the hazard switch assembly properly displayed?
Yes: Replace the hazard switch assembly.
No: Replace the combination meter.
