Front Seat: Removal

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>General Description>CAUTION .
  • When any of the following operation has been done, be sure to perform [Rezeroing] of occupant detection system. Ref. to OCCUPANT DETECTIONS (DIAGNOSTICS)>REZERO .
    • Replacing occupant detection system
    • Removing and disassembling passenger's seat
    • Loosening passenger's seat bolt
  1. Remove the headrest assembly.
  2. Disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor, and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work, Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
    NOTE: For the power seat type, remove the slide rail installing bolt before disconnecting the ground terminal from the battery sensor.
  3. Remove the slide rail assembly installing bolt.
    1. Release the claws, and then remove the cover bolt front.

    2. Remove the bolt.
    3. Tilt the backrest assembly forward and move the front seat to the front most position.
    4. Release the claws, and then remove the cover bolt rear.

    5. Remove the bolt.
      NOTE:
      • After the bolts are removed, slide the seat to the middle position in order to make it easier to take out of the vehicle.
      • Raise the cushion seating face when the seat is disassembled, for example, to replace the seat surface. (Driver's side only)
      • For the power seat type, disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor.
  4. Disconnect the connector between passenger compartment floor under front seat - seat.
  5. Take out the front seat from the vehicle.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the body.
