- CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT
.
Check the hazard light illumination using the following procedures.
- Turn the hazard switch to ON.
- Perform lock/unlock operation using keyless transmitter/access key.
Does the hazard light illuminate?
Yes :
Go to 2.
No :
Perform diagnosis for the body integrated unit. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- CHECK Power rear gate control module
.
- Unlock the vehicle.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Press and hold the power rear gate driver's switch to activate the power rear gate auto operation.
Does the hazard light illuminate during the power rear gate operation?
Yes :
The circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.
NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause. No :
Go to 3.
- CHECK HARNESS (OPEN CIRCUIT)
.
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the body integrated unit connector.
- Disconnect the Power rear gate control module connector in the order of (R423) → (R422).
- Measure the resistance between the body integrated unit connector and Power rear gate control module connector.
Connector & terminal
(R422) No. 15 - (i171) No. 37:
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes :
Go to 4.
No :
Repair or replace the open circuit of harness.
- CHECK HARNESS (GROUND SHORT CIRCUIT)
.
Measure the resistance between Power rear gate control module connector and chassis ground.
Connector & terminal
(R422) No. 15 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more?
Yes :
Replace Power rear gate control module. Ref. to POWER REAR GATE SYSTEM>POWER REAR GATE CONTROL MODULE .
