Upper Arm: Installation
CAUTION:
- For parts which are not reusable, always use new parts.
- Always tighten the bushing when the arm is positioned in the state where the vehicle is at curb weight and the wheels are in full contact with the ground.
- Check if the collar is protruding from the rear axle housing. (Hybrid model)
- If the collar comes off from the rear axle housing, replace the rear axle housing with a new part. (Hybrid model)
NOTE:
This procedure is only for non-hybrid models. For hybrid models, perform the procedure by referring to the procedure for non-hybrid models.
- Before installation, inspect the following items and replace any faulty part with a new one.
- Visually check the upper arm assembly for damage and deformation.
- Visually check the bushing for abnormal cracks, fatigue or damage.
- Visually check the boot on the ball joint for abnormal cracks, fatigue or damage.
- Install the rear upper arm assembly.
- Make the rear lateral link (rear) installation service informations (the bolt on the rear axle housing side and the bolt on the sub frame assembly side) horizontal.
- Install the rear upper arm assembly to the sub frame assembly.
Tightening torque:
Rear upper arm assembly - sub frame assembly: 90 N.m (9.2 kgf-m, 66.4 ft-lb)
- Connect the rear upper arm assembly and the rear axle housing.
Tightening torque:
