CAUTION: Before handling the airbag system components, refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from the 12V engine restart battery sensor. and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. Refer to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the cover assembly - instrument panel LWR driver. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER COVER>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the knee airbag module. Refer to AIRBAG SYSTEM>KNEE AIRBAG MODULE>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the duct foot driver.
    1. Remove the screws securing the spacer foot and release the claws, then detach the duct foot driver together with the spacer foot.
      CAUTION: If the duct - foot is detached from the spacer - foot, replace the duct - foot with a new part. If the duct - foot is reused, the holding force of the claws and clips is reduced and the part may come off.
