Section 23 (Emission Control Systems (Aux. Emission Control Devices) (HEV)): Canister: Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the rear wheel LH. Ref. to WHEEL AND TIRE SYSTEM>TIRE AND WHEEL>REMOVAL .
  3. Lift up the vehicle.
  4. Remove the mud guard - rear LH. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>MUD GUARD>REMOVAL .
  5. Disconnect the vent tube No. 1 (A) and remove from the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE H) .
  6. Disconnect the purge tube No. 2 (B) and remove from the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE E) .

  7. Disconnect the connector (A), and remove the canister and drain filter as an assembly.

  8. Disconnect the connector (A), and remove the harness from the canister protector.

  9. Remove the nut (A) securing the drain filter.
  10. Remove the drain filter. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE G) .

  11. Remove the canister protector (A).
  12. Disconnect the vent tube No. 1 (B). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE H) .
  13. Disconnect the purge tube No. 2 (C). Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE D) .

  14. Disconnect the vent tube No. 2 (A) from the electric vent solenoid valve assembly, and remove from the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE H) .
  15. Disconnect the purge tube No. 1 (B) from the fuel pipe assembly, and remove from the tube clamp. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO (HEV))>FUEL DELIVERY AND EVAPORATION LINES>REMOVAL>QUICK CONNECTOR DISCONNECTION (TYPE E) .
