THE Charging connector DOES NOT LOCK: Notes
- Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to PLUG-IN BATTERY CHARGER (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
- The Charging connector lock system, model uses keyless access with push button start (keyless access function). A malfunction in the keyless access function may prevent the charging lid lock and Charging connector lock functions from operating. When there is a malfunction of the keyless access function, first check the keyless access with push button start (keyless access function).
- When checking, set the keyless access system function of the keyless access with push button start (keyless access function) to "Active" in the customization function.
- When operation of the charging lid lock/unlock and Charging connector lock/unlock are linked, lock/unlock operation will not occur until the motor temperature has dropped in order to protect the motor. If this occurs, wait for 3 minutes or more to allow the lock motor to cool, then check its operation.
- After linked operation of charging lid lock/unlock and Charging connector lock/unlock occurred, commands are not accepted for a certain time in order to protect the motor. If this occurs, wait for 3 seconds or more after the previous operation before checking operation.
- It is possible that Charging connector lock/unlock was not possible because the Charging connector lock was dirty or frozen, or a foreign object was caught in it. Therefore if there is dirt or freezing, remove it before checking.
- If an Electric vehicle charger cable assembly from another company was used, it is possible that the Charging connector lock/unlock function will not operate correctly. Use the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly that was provided with the vehicle to check Charging connector lock/unlock operation before inspecting.
- After connecting the Charging connector, using the MFD charging settings to change the Charging connector lock setting (changing from the current setting to automatic locking or automatic locking & automatic unlocking) does not cause Charging connector lock/unlock to operate.
- Charging connector lock/unlock may not be possible after emergency lid unlock. After emergency lid unlock, open the charging lid (charging lid push-lifter (charging lid courtesy switch) extended) → then connect the Charging connector.
- Charging connector lock/unlock may not be possible after emergency connector unlock. After emergency connector unlock, pull out the Charging connector → then close the charging lid (charging lid courtesy switch (Charge inlet switch) push-lifter retracted).
- Use the MFD charging settings to set the Charging connector lock setting to "Manual lock" before checking.

Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read all DTCs. Ref. to COMMON (DIAG)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .
Are any DTCs displayed?
Yes : Perform the diagnosis for the displayed DTCs.
No : Go to 2.
- CHECK THE KEYLESS ACCESS FUNCTION

Refer to [Keyless Access with Push Button Start]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>INSPECTION .
NOTE: With the vehicle doors locked, check the status of the keyless access function and charging lid lighting function. (When the vehicle doors are unlocked, the status of the keyless access function and charging lid lighting function do not operate.)Does the keyless access function operate? (Door lock/unlock is possible.)
Yes : Go to 3.
No : Perform the diagnosis for [Keyless Access with Push Button Start]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- CHECK THE CHARGING LID LIGHTING FUNCTION
.
- Close all doors of the vehicle.
- Lock the vehicle doors.
- Hold the Access key at the same height as the charging lid and bring it within approximately 70 cm of the charging lid. Check that the Access key LED blinks.NOTE:
- The charging lid is located on the rear left side of the vehicle.
- With the vehicle doors locked, check the status of the keyless access function and charging lid lighting function. (When the vehicle doors are unlocked, the status of the keyless access function and charging lid lighting function do not operate.)
- Hold the Access key and bring it within approximately 30 cm of the Keyless access outdoor antenna (charging inlet door). Check that the Access key LED blinks.NOTE:
- The Keyless access outdoor antenna (charging inlet door) is located on the rear left side of the vehicle below the charging lid.
- In some cases, communication is not possible within 20 cm of the Keyless access outdoor antenna (charging inlet door).
- Because bringing the Access key closer to the Keyless access outdoor antenna (charging inlet door) reduces the effects of outside radio interference, it is possible to check whether there are effects from outside radio interference.
- If the check results show that operation fails only at certain locations and times, then there is a strong possibility that the cause is outside radio interference. Because it is also possible that the function is affected by outside radio interference from parts or accessories that were installed by the dealer, remove any parts or accessories that were installed by the dealer and then check operation.
- If there is a broadcast antenna, large-screen monitor, wireless open/close garage, wireless security camera, home security system, or similar equipment close to the vehicle, then there may be outside radio interference. In this case, move the vehicle to another location and check the operation.
- If a radio wave checker is available, it is possible to follow the radio environment check procedure and determine whether or not there are effects from outside radio interference.
If the Access key LED does not blink, go to A.
(The charging lid lighting function is not operating.)
If the Access key LED blinks when close to the charging lid, go to B.
(The charging lid lighting function is operating.)
If the Access key LED does not blink when close to the charging lid, however the LED blinks when close to the Keyless access outdoor antenna (charging inlet door), go to C.
(The charging lid lighting function is operating.)
Yes :
- Perform the diagnosis for [Keyless Access with Push Button Start]. Ref. to KEYLESS ACCESS WITH PUSH BUTTON START (DIAGNOSTICS)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .
- Go to 4.
- Effects of outside radio interference.
No : -
- CHECK THE Electric vehicle charger assembly. (CHECK THE SIGNAL WITH CHARGING LID OPEN AND Charging connector UNLOCKED.)
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
- Connect the Battery (12V) ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Lock all doors.
- Hold the Access key (electronic key) and open the charging lid.
- Turn to IG ON.
- Using a tester, measure the voltage between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and chassis ground.NOTE: Open the charging lid after locking the doors so that the charging lid is open and the Charging connector is unlocked. Check the voltage value under these conditions.

- CHECK THE Electric vehicle charger assembly. (CHECK THE SIGNAL WITH CHARGING LID OPEN AND Charging connector LOCKED.)

- Unlock all doors.
- Hold the Access key and open the charging lid.
- Check that the Charging connector lock is unlocked (Charging connector lock pin is not lowered).NOTE: If the Charging connector is locked (Charging connector lock pin is lowered), perform emergency connector unlock.
- Connect the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly.NOTE: Securely insert the Charging connector all the way to connect it. (If the connector is not fully connected, the Charging connector lock function may not operate correctly.)
- Press the Charge cable connector lock switch (Charging indicator) once to lock the Charging connector.
- Turn to IG ON.
- Using a tester, measure the voltage between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and chassis ground.NOTE: With the charging lid open, connect the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly, then press the Charge cable connector lock switch (Charging indicator) once so that the charging lid is open and Charging connector is locked. Check the voltage value under these conditions.

- Disconnect the ground terminal of Battery (12V). Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Check the Cable EV charger lock assembly unit. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET>INSPECTION .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 13.
No : Replace Cable EV charger lock assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET .
- CHECK Wire harness AND CONNECTOR (Electric vehicle charger assembly - Cable EV charger lock assembly (CBMP, CBMN))

- Turn to IG ON.
- Using a tester, measure the voltage between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and chassis ground.

Is the voltage 11 - 14 V?
Yes : Go to 16.

- CHECK THE Charging indicator. (CHECK THE Charging connector LOCK SWITCH.)

- Turn the ignition to OFF.
- Disconnect the ground terminal of Battery (12V). Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Check the Charging connector lock switch unit. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET .
Is the check result OK?
Yes : Go to 17.
No : Replace Charging indicator. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET .

No : Replace Electric vehicle charger assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER .
- CHECK GROUNDING POINT CONNECTION (AC charger inlet cable)

Check connection of AC charger inlet cable grounding point (GB11). Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET .
Is the grounding point connected securely?
Yes : Go to 26.
No : Connect the grounding point securely.
- CHECK AC charger inlet cable
.CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
- Disconnect the ground terminal of Battery (12V). Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Disconnect AC charger inlet cable connector (HV27).CAUTION: Because DTC P0D5615 may be detected if connector (HV27) is disconnected when the Battery (12V) is connected, check that the negative terminal of the Battery (12V) is disconnected before beginning this work.
- Using a tester, measure the resistance between AC charger inlet cable (Charging inlet) connector and chassis ground, and between AC charger inlet cable (Charging inlet) connector terminals.
