Ac Line Insulation Malfunction: Notes

  1. REPRODUCTION TEST  .
    CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
    1. Use the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly which the customer used and perform plug-in charging.
    2. Check the status of the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly power indicator and error indicator.
      NOTE: For details of the power indicator and error indicator status, refer to the on-the-vehicle inspection for Electric vehicle charger cable assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE CABLE .
      Power indicator Error indicator Charging start Go to
      Light ON Blinking (3 times) Does not start. A
      Light ON Light OFF Starts. B
      Other - C

    Check the indicator status and then go to the next step as shown in the table above.

    Yes  :

    1. Go to  2.
    2. Explain to the customer that it is operating correctly.
    3. Replace Electric vehicle charger cable assembly.

    No  : -

  2. CHECK THE Electric vehicle charger cable assembly (Electric vehicle charger cable assembly WHICH WAS CONFIRMED TO OPERATE NORMALLY)  .
    CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
    1. Use an Electric vehicle charger cable assembly which was confirmed to operate normally and perform plug-in charging.
    2. Check the status of the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly power indicator and error indicator.
      Power indicator Error indicator Charging start Go to
      Light ON Blinking (3 times) Does not start. A
      Light ON Light OFF Starts. B

    Check the indicator status and then go to the next step as shown in the table above.

    Yes  :

    1. Go to  3.
    2. Replace Electric vehicle charger cable assembly.

    No  : -

  3. CHECK THE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (Electric vehicle charger assembly - Charging inlet) (SHORT TO GROUND)  .
    CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
    1. Check that the Service plug is disconnected. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>SERVICE PLUG .
    2. Check that the Electric vehicle charger cable assembly is disconnected.
    3. Disconnect Electric vehicle charger assembly connector (HV32).
    4. Using a megohmmeter (500 V range) and measure the resistance between Electric vehicle charger assembly connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (HV32) No. 2 - Chassis ground:

      (HV32) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

    Is the resistance 10 MΩ or more?

    Yes  : Replace Electric vehicle charger assembly. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGER .

    No  : Go to  4.

  4. CHECK THE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AC charger inlet cable - Charging inlet) (SHORT TO GROUND)  .
    CAUTION: Make sure to wear insulated gloves and protective goggles during the work.
    1. Disconnect AC charger inlet cable connector (HV26).
    2. Using a megohmmeter (500 V range) and measure the resistance between AC charger inlet cable connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (HV26) No. 2 - Chassis ground:

      (HV26) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

    Is the resistance 10 MΩ or more?

    Yes  : Replace the harness between AC charger inlet cable and Electric vehicle charger assembly.

    No  : Replace AC charger inlet cable. Ref. to HYBRID ELECTRIC VEHICLE>CHARGE INLET .
