Inverter Front Water Pipe

  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Drain engine coolant. (Inverter assembly side) Ref. to COOLING (H4DO (HEV))>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT>INVERTER ASSEMBLY SIDE .
  3. Remove the screw (A) and clips, and turn over the mud guard - front RH.

  4. Remove the clamp.

  5. Disconnect the quick connector from the inverter water pump.
    NOTE:
    • Disconnect the quick connector as shown in the figure.
    • Be careful not to pull the slider too much.

  6. Disconnect the inverter radiator inlet hose from the radiator.

  7. Remove the crossmember support - rear RH. Ref. to FRONT SUSPENSION>CROSSMEMBER SUPPORT>REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the inverter center water pipe outlet hose (B) and inverter center water pipe inlet hose (C) from the clamp (A).
  9. Disconnect the inverter center water pipe outlet hose (B) and inverter center water pipe inlet hose (C) from the inverter center water pipe.
    NOTE: Make markings, etc. to prevent mis-connection at the time of connecting the inverter center water pipe inlet hose and inverter center water pipe outlet hose.

  10. Remove the clip from the air intake boot, and loosen the clamp.

  11. Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.

  12. Remove the air cleaner case (rear). Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR CLEANER CASE>REMOVAL .
  13. Remove the nut securing the inverter front water pipe to the bracket.

  14. Disconnect the connector (A) and connector (B), and remove the clip (C).
  15. Remove the bolt securing the inverter front water pipe, and remove the inverter front water pipe together with the inverter radiator inlet hose, inverter water pump outlet hose, inverter center water pipe inlet hose and inverter center water pipe outlet hose.

  16. Disconnect the inverter radiator inlet hose (A), inverter water pump outlet hose (B), inverter center water pipe outlet hose (C) and inverter center water pipe inlet hose (D) from the inverter front water pipe.

  17. When the bracket is replaced
    1. Remove the air cleaner element and the air cleaner case (front). Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>AIR CLEANER CASE>REMOVAL .
    2. Remove the clip (A) and remove the bracket.

  18. Disconnect the inverter water pump outlet hose from the quick connector.
    NOTE: Remove if necessary.

  19. Remove the clamp (A) and remove the bracket.
