WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Remove the oil pressure switch. Refer to LUBRICATION (EXCEPT FOR STI)>OIL PRESSURE SWITCH>REMOVAL .
- Install the oil pressure gauge to the chain cover.
- Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Start the engine, and check the oil pressure.NOTE:
- Standard value is based on an engine oil temperature of 80°C (176°F).
- If the oil pressure is out of specification, check oil pump, oil filter and lubrication line. Refer to LUBRICATION (EXCEPT FOR STI)>ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM TROUBLE IN GENERAL>INSPECTION .
- If the oil pressure warning light is ON and oil pressure is within standard, check the oil pressure switch. Refer to LUBRICATION (EXCEPT FOR STI)>ENGINE LUBRICATION SYSTEM TROUBLE IN GENERAL>INSPECTION .
Engine oil pressure:
While idling (no load, and for CVT model, select lever in "P" or "N" range, for MT model, gear shift lever in neutral position)
Standard
65 kPa (0.7 kg/cm2 , 9 psi) or more (at 3,000 r/min)
Standard
