Oil Pan Upper

- Remove the engine from the vehicle. Ref. to MECHANICAL(H4DO)>Engine Assembly>REMOVAL . Ref. to MECHANICAL(H4DOTC)>Engine Assembly>REMOVAL .
- Remove the water pump. Ref. to COOLING(H4DO)>Water Pump>REMOVAL . Ref. to COOLING(H4DOTC)>Water Pump>REMOVAL .
- Remove the thermostat cover. Ref. to COOLING(H4DO)>Thermostat>REMOVAL . Ref. to COOLING(H4DOTC)>Thermostat>REMOVAL .
- Remove the water pipe assembly. Ref. to COOLING(H4DO)>Water Pipe Assembly>REMOVAL . Ref. to COOLING(H4DOTC)>Water Pipe Assembly>REMOVAL .
- Remove the chain cover. Ref. to MECHANICAL(H4DO)>Chain Cover>REMOVAL . Ref. to MECHANICAL(H4DOTC)>Chain Cover>REMOVAL .
- Remove the oil pan. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>Oil Pan>REMOVAL .
- Remove the oil level switch. Ref. to LUBRICATION (H4DO)>Oil Level Switch>REMOVAL .
- Remove the bolts which secure oil pan upper to cylinder block, and remove the oil pan upper.NOTE: Remove the bolt (a) shown in the figure using TORX® bit T45.
- Remove the baffle plate from the oil pan upper.
- Remove the oil strainer from the oil pan upper.
- Remove stud bolts from the oil pan upper.
- Remove the clutch housing cover from the oil pan upper. (MT model)
- Remove the O-ring from the cylinder block.

- Remove the liquid gasket from oil pan upper and cylinder block.
