HVAC System (Heater, Ventilator And A-C): Evaporator: Removal

CAUTION
, General Description. >
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery and wait for at least 60 seconds before starting work. < Ref. to
BATTERY
, NOTE, Note. >NOTE: For models other than STI model, disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor.
- Using the refrigerant recovery system, discharge refrigerant. < Ref. to PROCEDURE , Refrigerant Recovery Procedure. >
- Remove the intercooler.
- Remove the expansion valve - cooling. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Expansion Valve. >
- Remove the glove box. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Glove Box. >
- Remove the engine control module (ECM). (STI model) < Ref. to REMOVAL , Engine Control Module (ECM). >
- Remove the blower motor unit assembly. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Blower Motor Unit Assembly. >
- Remove the evaporator assembly - cooling.
- Disconnect the connector and lock of the thermostat - cooling.
- Remove the screws and detach the cover.
- Remove the cover - heater unit.
- Disconnect the power transistor connector.
- Remove the screws and clips to remove the cover - heater unit.
- Remove the bolt, and detach the pipe - evaporator core.
Preparation tool:
Hexagon wrench: 4 mm (0.16 in)
- Remove the evaporator assembly - cooling.
- Remove the thermostat - cooling.
