Inspection steps

  1. SSM3 data reading
    1. Using SSM3, display the [Current Data Display & Save] screen according to the screen instructions and check the data.
      SSM3 DISPLAY: [EACH SYSTEM CHECK] →[COMBINATION METER] →[CURRENT DATA DISPLAY & SAVE]

      Item Name [Symbol] Description/display range Normal value Remarks
      [ODO/TRIP Change SW] [ODO/TRIP SW] ODO/TRIP Change SW state
      Display range: OFF to ON      		 ON: When the switch is pressed
      OFF: When the switch is released      		 If it is abnormal, the trip switch may be faulty
      [Multi-display Change Switch] [Multi Disp SW] Multi display changeover SW state
      Display range: OFF to ON      		 ON: When the switch is pressed
      OFF: When the switch is released      		 If it is abnormal, the multi display switch may be faulty

      Criteria: The normal value is displayed properly.

      NG: Go to Step 2.

      OK: Replacement of the combination meter ASSY (refer to REMOVAL  )

  2. Unit inspection of the trip switch
    1. Remove the trip switch. (Refer to REMOVAL  )
    2. Resistance check
      1. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      RESISTANCE

      Inspection terminals (Terminal symbol) Inspection conditions Standard value
      2(TRIP) - 1 ODO/TRIP switch is pressed Less than 1 Ω
      2(TRIP) - 1 ODO/TRIP switch is released 10 KΩ or more
      3(DISP) - 1 DISP switch is pressed Less than 1 Ω
      3(DISP) - 1 DISP switch is released 10 KΩ or more

      NG: Replacement of the trip switch (Refer to REMOVAL  )

      OK: Go to Next Step

  3. Inspection of the wiring harness and connector (Combination meter ASSY - Trip switch)
    1. Disconnect connector D7 of the combination meter ASSY.
    2. Measure the resistance between the terminals.
      RESISTANCE

      Inspection terminals (Terminal symbol) Inspection conditions Standard value
      D7-34 (DISP) - D64-3 (DISP) Always Less than 1 Ω
      D7-36 (TRIP) - D64-2 (TRIP) Always Less than 1 Ω

      NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector

      OK: Replacement of the combination meter ASSY (refer to REMOVAL  )
