Oil Pump: Removal

Remove the collector cover.
Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Remove the radiator. < Refer to REMOVAL , Radiator. >
Remove the crankshaft position sensor. < Refer to REMOVAL , Crankshaft Position Sensor. >
Remove the water pump. < Refer to REMOVAL , Water Pump. >
Remove the crank sprocket. < Refer to REMOVAL , Crank Sprocket. >

Remove the bolts which secure oil pump to cylinder block.
NOTE:
When disassembling and checking the oil pump, loosen the relief valve plug before removing the oil pump.

Remove the oil pump by using flat tip screwdriver.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to scratch the mating surface of the cylinder block and oil pump.

Remove the front oil seal from the oil pump.
