Oil Pump: Removal

- Remove the collector cover.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Remove the radiator. < Refer to REMOVAL , Radiator. >
- Remove the crankshaft position sensor. < Refer to REMOVAL , Crankshaft Position Sensor. >
- Remove the water pump. < Refer to REMOVAL , Water Pump. >
- Remove the crank sprocket. < Refer to REMOVAL , Crank Sprocket. >
- Remove the bolts which secure oil pump to cylinder block.NOTE:
When disassembling and checking the oil pump, loosen the relief valve plug before removing the oil pump.
- Remove the oil pump by using flat tip screwdriver.CAUTION:
Be careful not to scratch the mating surface of the cylinder block and oil pump.
- Remove the front oil seal from the oil pump.
