Cylinder Head: Removal

- Remove the intake manifold. Ref. to REMOVAL , Intake Manifold.
- Remove the crank pulley. Ref. to REMOVAL , Crank Pulley.
- Remove the timing belt cover. Ref. to REMOVAL , Timing Belt Cover.
- Remove the timing belt. Ref. to REMOVAL , Timing Belt.
- Remove the cam sprocket. Ref. to REMOVAL , Cam Sprocket.
- Remove the bolt which holds A/C compressor bracket onto cylinder head. (LH side only)
- Remove the oil pipe. Ref. to REMOVAL , Oil Pipe.
- Remove the clip stay.
- Remove the camshaft. Ref. to REMOVAL , Camshaft.
- Remove the oil level gauge guide. (LH side only)
- Remove the cylinder head bolts in alphabetical order shown in the figure.NOTE: Leave the bolts (A) and (D) engaged by three or four threads to prevent the cylinder head from falling.
- While tapping the cylinder head with a plastic hammer, separate it from cylinder block. Remove the bolts (A) and (D) to remove cylinder head.
- Remove the cylinder head gasket.CAUTION: Be careful not to scratch the mating surface of cylinder head and cylinder block.
