Oil Pan and Strainer: Removal

Set the vehicle on a lift.
Remove the front wheels.
Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Remove the air intake duct and air cleaner case.

Remove the air intake chamber.

Remove the pitching stopper.

Remove the hood stay holder (A) and radiator upper brackets (B).

Support the engine with a lifting device and wire ropes.

Lift-up the vehicle.
CAUTION: When lifting up the vehicle, raise up wire ropes at the same time.
Remove the under cover.
Drain the engine oil. < Ref. to REPLACEMENT , Engine Oil. >
Remove the front and center exhaust pipes. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe. >
Remove the nuts which install front cushion rubber onto front crossmember.

Remove the bolts which install oil pan on cylinder block with the engine raised up.
Insert the oil pan cutter blade into the gap between cylinder block and oil pan.
CAUTION: Do not use a screwdriver or similar tool in place of oil pan cutter.
Remove the oil strainer.
Remove the baffle plate.
