Drive Pinion Shaft Assembly: Installation

- Assemble the drive pinion assembly to oil pump housing.NOTE:
- Be careful not to bend the shim.
- Be careful not to press-fit the pinion into housing bore.
Tightening torque:
40 N.m (4.0 kgf-m, 30 ft-lb)
- Combine the torque converter case with transmission case. < Ref. to , INSTALLATION , Converter Case. >
- Install the reduction driven gear. < Ref. to , INSTALLATION , Reduction Driven Gear. >
- Install the reduction drive gear. < Ref. to , INSTALLATION , Reduction Drive Gear. >
- Combine the transmission case with the extension case, and then install the rear vehicle speed sensor. < Ref. to , INSTALLATION , Extension Case. >
- Insert the inhibitor switch and transmission connector to the stay.
- Install the oil cooler inlet and outlet pipes. < Ref. to , INSTALLATION , ATF Cooler Pipe and Hose. >
- Install the oil charge pipe with O-ring.
- Insert the input shaft with rotating it by hand lightly, and then check the protrusion amount.
Normal protrusion A:
50 - 55 mm (1.97 - 2.17 in)
- Install the torque converter assembly. < Ref. to , INSTALLATION , Torque Converter Assembly. >
- Install the transmission assembly into vehicle. < Ref. to , INSTALLATION , Automatic Transmission Assembly. >
