Impact Sensor Test

  1. Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Unplug air bag module 3-pin Yellow connectors AB3, AB8, AB9 and AB10 at base of steering column. See Figure . Unplug the 2-pin Orange connector AB5 and the Blue connector AB4 from the control unit. See Figure . Plug connectors AB5 and AB4 into connector 8B of test harness "B2". See Figure .
  2. Measure resistance between terminals No. 15 and 16 at connector 5B of test harness "B2". If resistance is not 1400-1600 ohms, left impact sensor and/or wiring harness is defective. Replace left impact sensor or wiring harness as appropriate.
  3. If resistance is 1400-1600 ohms, measure resistance between terminals No. 17 and 18 at connector 5B of test harness "B2". If resistance is not 1400-1600 ohms, right impact sensor and/or wiring harness is defective. Replace right impact sensor or wiring harness as appropriate. If resistance is 1400-1600 ohms, go to AIR BAG MAIN WIRING HARNESS TEST.
