Air Bag Main Wiring Harness Test

  1. Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Remove driver-side lower trim panel from dash. Unplug air bag module 3-pin Yellow connector at base of steering column. See Figure . Unplug 12-pin Yellow connector AB6 from control unit. Plug connector AB6 into connector 8B of test harness "B2". See Figure .
  2. Measure resistance between terminals No. 1 and 14 at connector 5B of test harness "B2". If resistance is less than 1000 ohms, replace air bag main wiring harness. If resistance is 1000 ohms or more, replace air bag control unit. See CONTROL UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
