Air Bag Main Wiring Harness Test

  1. Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Remove driver-side lower trim panel. Unplug air bag module 3-pin Yellow connector at base of steering column. See Figure . Plug disconnected Yellow connector AB8 into terminal No. 1C of test harness "C". See Figure and Fig. Figure .
  2. Unplug 12-pin Yellow connector AB6 from control unit. Plug connector AB6 into connector 8B of test harness "B2". See Figure . Measure resistance between terminal No. 14 at connector 5B of test harness "B2" and terminal No. 4 at connector 3C of test harness "C". If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace air bag main wiring harness.
  3. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, measure resistance between terminal No. 1 at connector 5B of test harness "B2" and terminal No. 3 at connector 3C of test harness "C". If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace air bag main wiring harness. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace air bag control unit. See CONTROL UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
