Air Bag Main Wiring Harness Test

  1. Disable SRS. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEM  . Reconnect AB1 and B58 connectors. Connect connector B58 to test harness "A" connector 1A. Measure resistance between connector 5A terminal No. 17 and ground. Measure resistance between connector terminal No. 18 and ground.
  2. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, repair body ground circuit. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, connect connectors AB1 and B58. Disconnect connector AB6 from air bag control unit. Connect AB6 to test harness "B2" connector 8B.
  3. Measure resistance between each test harness "B2" connector 5B and ground. If resistance is more than 10 ohms, replace air bag main harness. If resistance is less than 10 ohms, replace air bag control unit. See CONTROL UNIT  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
