| 4 | Determine likely remaining distance of brake linings on rear axle | If the wear limit for the brake linings is reached, the brake linings must be replaced subject to a separate repair order. Otherwise the braking effect may be impaired and people, property and environmental damage may result. In order to avoid an unscheduled workshop visit between services, it is necessary to determine the remaining distance of the present brake linings. If the remaining distance determined is smaller than the next service interval, premature brake shoe replacement should be recommended to the customer. |
