Windshield Washer, Function - GF82.35-P-3002KJ

MODEL 453.0/3/4

Function requirements, general

Washing windshield, general

The windshield is kept clean by washing the windshield.

The windshield wash function is comprised of the following subfunctions:

Washing function sequence

If the windshield wiper system switch (S4/4) is pulled backwards in the direction of travel and held in the pulled position, the "Wash windshield" function is carried out. In order to do this, depending on the duration for which the windshield wiper system switch is held, the windshield washer system pump (M5/1) is actuated via a direct electrical line by the windshield wiper system switch and washer fluid from the washer fluid reservoir is delivered to the front spray nozzles by the windshield washer system pump. Wipe cycles are carried out at the same time. If the windshield wiper system switch is operated, the "Wash" status of the windshield wiper system switch is read in directly by the center SAM control unit (N10/10), but is then transmitted via the interior CAN (CAN B) to the driver-side SAM control unit (N10/11), which then actuates the wiper motor (M6/1) directly.

The Wash function is interrupted under the following conditions:

Afterwiping function sequence

The afterwiping function is activated as soon as the windshield wiper system switch is no longer being operated. If the windshield wiper system switch is pulled backwards for t ≤ 0.75 s in the direction of travel, the "Single wipe" function is carried out and a wipe cycle takes place. If the windshield wiper system switch is held in the pulled position for t > 0.75 s, 3 more wipe cycles are carried out after releasing the switch (after-wiping). The afterwipe cycle is controlled by the driver-side SAM control unit, which continues to actuate the wiper motor directly after the washing procedure and therefore after the windshield wiper system switch has been released. After carrying out the 3 wipe cycles and a break of t = 3 s, one additional after-wipe takes place (drop-wipe), providing that the windshield wiper system switch is in the "0" position (front windshield wiper off).

The afterwiping function is interrupted or aborted under the following conditions:
