Remove/install oil level check switch - AR18.40-P-5113EL

ENGINE 276, 278 in MODEL 212, 218

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105EW
2 Drain engine oil and catch in a suitable container    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE ENGINE 276 in MODEL 212, 218 AP18.00-P-0101CWZ
REFER TO MAINTENANCE ENGINE 278 in MODEL 212, 218 AP18.00-P-0101EW
3 Disconnect outer electrical connection on oil level check switch (S43)    
4 Remove oil pan bottom section    
IMPORTANT Notes on sealant path for oil pan AH01.45-P-0001-01MMA
IMPORTANT Notes on sealant path for oil pan AH01.45-P-0001-01MMB
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe notes on sealant path on the oil pan (4).
Loctite 7063 cleaning spray (150 ml) *BR00.45-Z-1046-04A 
Loctite 7200 *BR00.45-Z-1038-04A 
Loctite 5970 sealant *BR00.45-Z-1013-01A 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, oil pan bottom section to oil pan *BA01.45-P-1003-01E 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil pan to crankcase at transmission end *BA01.45-P-1002-01E 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil pan to crankcase/timing case cover/rear end cover *BA01.45-P-1001-01E 
SPECIAL TOOL Application gun
Remove operating fluids and other soiling from sealing surfaces:
↓		 Fig 2
Remove sealant AR01.00-P-0050-01A
5 Detach clip (5) on oil pan (4)    
6 Remove screw/bolts (2) and introduce jack (6) into oil pan (4) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace O-ring for jack (6).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil level switch connector to oil pan *BA18.40-P-1003-02C 
7 Remove screw/bolts (3) and remove oil level check switch (S43) from bracket TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, oil level switch to bracket *BA18.40-P-1001-02C 
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Read out fault memory with STAR DIAGNOSIS and clear if necessary    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS AD00.00-P-2000-04A
