Measure oil consumption - AR18.00-P-0025TX

INSPECT Check     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  . Skin or eye injuries may result when handling hot or glowing objects. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary. AS00.00-Z-0002-01A
1 Check outside of ENGINE for oil loss IMPORTANT Eliminate leaks prior to oil consumption measurement.  
2 Carry out engine oil and filter change

IMPORTANT In order to avoid false measurements, for example through fuel in engine oil, the engine oil has to be changed before each oil consumption measurement. It is not necessary to engine oil change when less than 1000 km has been driven after the last oil change.		 AP18.00-P-0101CWA
3 Start engine and bring to operating temperature    
4 Turn off engine    
MEASURING Measure     
5 Measure engine oil level using an oil dipstick IMPORTANT In order to avoid measurement errors, vehicle must be parked on an even surface.
IMPORTANT Never pour in engine oil to above the maximum value.
IMPORTANT Measure engine oil level after 5 minute using the oil dipstick, and correct to maximum value if necessary.		  
6 Conduct measuring drive IMPORTANT Perform measuring drive over a measurement distance of 250 km (if measurement carried out by workshop personnel) or 1000 km (if measurement carried out by customer).
IMPORTANT If the measurement is conducted by the workshop personnel, take into account the operating conditions of the vehicle at the customer's.		  
7 Measure oil quantity again

IMPORTANT To avoid measuring errors, the new measurement of the oil quantity must be carried out at the same location as for first oil measurement.
IMPORTANT Measure oil quantity by draining engine oil into a measuring container.		 AP18.00-P-0101CWA
8 Determine oil consumption   AR18.00-P-0025-05TXX 
IMPORTANT The oil consumption may be as much as 0.8 liter of oil over 1000 km. The corresponding repair measures must only be carried out if oil consumption is higher than this.
