| 1 | Switch off all electrical consumers and the ignition | ||
| 2 | Remove rear bumper | AR88.20-P-2200EW | |
| 3 | Remove impact absorber from trailer hitch crossmember (1) | ||
| 4 | Unlock trailer hitch ball neck | ||
| 5 | Open cover in the lining on the right-hand side of the trunk or load compartment | ||
| 6 | Detach trailer socket (X58) from ball neck | AR31.19-P-1350EW | |
| 7 | Disconnect electrical connection at trailer hitch lock switch (S142x1) | ||
| 8 | Disconnect trailer socket connector (5) and trailer hitch electrical connection (X52) | ||
| 9 | Remove grommet (4) from the rear center section and lead trailer hitch socket wiring harness (2) from the vehicle interior outwards | ||
| 10 | Loosen trailer hitch socket wiring harness (2) from crossmember | ||
| 11 | Lead trailer hitch socket wiring harness (2) through the eye on the ball neck | ||
| 12 | Install in the reverse order | ||

| 13 | Perform function test of light signals at trailer hitch socket |
