Remove/install stabilizer bar on front axle - AR32.20-P-0300EW

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
    NOTES When working on the front-end assembly, be careful not to scratch, mark or notch the surfaces of aluminum parts. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.  
    INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components only when vehicle is in the ready-to-drive condition.  
1.1 Remove center section of the lower engine compartment paneling Vehicles with gasoline engine AR61.20-P-1105EW
1.2 Remove center bottom section of soundproofing Vehicles with diesel engine AR94.30-P-5300EW
2 Remove cover panel from rack-and-pinion steering Model 218  
3 Remove nut (3) on both sides and push link rods (4) out of torsion bar (1) INSPECT Check rubber boots of link rods (4) for damage and replace link rods (4) if necessary.
IMPORTANT When unscrewing the nuts (3) counterhold at the spherical bolts with interior torx.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.20-P-1001-02P 
4 Remove retaining plate from rack-and-pinion steering Model 212.077/277
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Fasten rack-and-pinion steering using cable ties onto the front axle carrier.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Replace bolts and nuts.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.20-P-1001-01N 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA46.20-P-1002-01N 
5 Remove bolts (5) on front axle carrier (2) and remove torsion bar (1) INSPECT Check rubber mount (6) and bearing shells (7) for damage and wear and replace torsion bar (1) if necessary.
IMPORTANT The rubber mount (6) and bearing shells (7) are vulcanized to the torsion bar (1).
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA32.20-P-1003-02P 
6 Install in the reverse order
