Remove/install air suspension valve unit - AR32.22-P-2015EW

DANGER Risk of injury  . Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Drain AIRmatic or steel/air suspension using diagnostic system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
2 Remove cover (10) MODEL 212.0/1
with CODE 488 (Steel/air suspension)

with CODE 489 (AIRMATIC)

with CODE 489 (AIRMATIC)
 
3 Detach electrical connection (7) from AIRmatic valve unit (Y36/6)    
4 Detach pressure lines to pressure line connections (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) from AIRmatic valve unit (Y36/6) NOTES
Note assignment and color coding on pressure line connections (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) and the AIRmatic valve unit (Y36/6).
Otherwise, the AIRmatic or the steel/air suspension function may be impaired.
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pressure line to compressor/valve unit *BA32.22-P-1007-03E 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pressure line, pressure reservoir to valve unit *BA32.22-P-1009-03E 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pressure line to air suspension/valve unit *BA32.22-P-1010-03E 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Pressure line to front suspension strut/valve unit *BA32.22-P-1011-03E 
SPECIAL TOOL Socket wrench bit Figure

5 Use suitable stop plugs to seal off pressure line connections (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6) of pressure lines    
6 Unscrew nuts (8) and remove AIRmatic valve unit (Y36/6) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Nut, valve unit bracket to body *BA32.22-P-1004-03E 
7 Remove bracket (9) from AIRmatic valve unit (Y36/6) When replacing the AIRmatic valve unit (Y36/6).  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, valve unit bracket to valve unit *BA32.22-P-1003-03E 
8 Install in the reverse order    
9 Read out fault memory using the diagnostic system and delete if necessary    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
INSPECT Check     
10 Check AIRmatic or steel/air suspension for leaktightness MODEL 212

DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
11 Perform engine test run and check AIRmatic or steel/air suspension for proper operation
