Measure absolute angle at front and rear propeller shafts - AR41.10-P-0085-02T

MODEL 172, 204, 207, 211, 212, 218, 219, 231 

IMPORTANT The vehicle must be on its wheels for the measurement. All four angles should be measured in succession without interruption.

An angle that has already been measured can be measured a second time if required. To do this, with the Measurement menu displayed, press the "STEP" button repeatedly until the display indicates Ready to measure the relevant angle.

Measurement - Angle 2: front propeller shaft 

  1. Clean contact surfaces for sensor (020a) on front propeller shaft (1).
    1. 2.1)  Model 172, 204, 207, 211, 212, 218, 219

      Position sensor (020a) horizontally on front propeller shaft (1) and press on firmly.

      IMPORTANT The spiral cable (020b) of the sensor (020a) must point in the direction of travel for each measurement. Otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate.

      If the sensor (020a) on the front propeller shaft (1) is not attached horizontally, the error message "Y-position error, sensor position??" appears. The measured angle cannot be saved.

    2. 2.2)  Model 231

      Position adapter (020h) horizontally at front propeller shaft (1) and place sensor (020a) on adapter (020h).

      Make sure that the adapter (020h) is seated and aligned correctly on the horizontal contact surface of the front propeller shaft (1). Also make sure that the adapter (020h) does not touch adjacent components. Otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate.

      The spiral cable (020b) of the sensor (020a) must point in the direction of travel for each measurement. Otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate.

      If the adapter (020h) or sensor (020a) is not horizontal, the fault message "Y-position error, sensor position ??" appears. The measured angle cannot be saved.

      IMPORTANT Remove the adapter (020h) from the case containing the electronic level multifunction unit.

      IMPORTANT The value measured is shown on the display.

  2. Press "SAVE" button.

    IMPORTANT The values are saved.

    IMPORTANT A confirmation message appears briefly.

    IMPORTANT The meter then indicates that it is ready to measure the next angle (angle 3).

  3. Remove sensor (020a) from front propeller shaft.

    Measurement - Angle 3: rear propeller shaft 

  4. Clean contact surfaces for sensor (020a) on rear propeller shaft (2).
  5. Position sensor (020a) horizontally on rear propeller shaft (2) and press on firmly.

    IMPORTANT The spiral cable (020b) of the sensor (020a) must point in the direction of travel for each measurement. Otherwise the measurement will be inaccurate. If the sensor (020a) on the rear propeller shaft (2) is not attached horizontally, the error message "Y-position error, sensor position??" appears. The measured angle cannot be saved.

    IMPORTANT The value measured is shown on the display.

  6. Press "SAVE" button.

    IMPORTANT The values are saved.

  7. Remove sensor (020a) from rear propeller shaft (2).
