3 Detach collar nut (4m) using retainer wrench from drive flange (4) and remove adjusting ring (4a) from drive flange (4) NOTES
SPECIAL TOOL Counterhold retainer wrench using locking handle. To do so, an SPECIAL TOOL assembly wedge must be placed between the breaker bar and the front axle carrier.
Otherwise damage may occur.
IMPORTANT The SPECIAL TOOL retainer wrench is secured to the drive flange with just one bolt (4).
IMPORTANT The adjusting ring (4a) determines the bearing preload of the front axle transmission (1) and therefore it must on no account be replaced. If the adjusting ring (4a) is lost, the front axle transmission (1) must be replaced.
