Replace complete wheel well - AR62.20-P-1200CW

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by high voltage used for electric welding. Risk of explosion  caused by welding in the area of highly inflammable materials. Risk of injury  caused by welding splatter and UV light while welding. Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling welding fumes. Use insulating mats. Wear protective clothing, safety glasses and protective mask. Remove highly inflammable materials from the hazard area. Use air extractor system. AS00.00-Z-0007-01A
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
DANGER Risk of poisoning  caused by inhaling vapors or swallowing adhesive. Risk of injury  caused by adhesive coming into contact with skin and eyes Wear respiratory protection, protective gloves and safety glasses. Pour adhesive into suitable and appropriately marked containers only. AS00.00-Z-0016-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts.

1 Prepare all workshop equipment and commercially available tools required for repair    
2 Remove all detachable parts in repair area.    
3 Cover all detachable parts remaining in vehicle with fire-resistant welding protection blanket Welding protective blanket
 
 
4 Equip straightening bench with module members, cross members and straightening tool set. IMPORTANT Observe setup plans provided.

5 Lift vehicle with two-post lifting platform Two-post lifting platform, 2.5 - 3.5 t electrohydraulic
 
 
6 Set vehicle onto straightening bench    
7 Fasten vehicle to straightening bench    
8 Remove centering panel (5) Model 212 and 218 only when straightening front wheel well (1).
IMPORTANT Centering panel (5) is no longer used after repair

9 Remove upper front longitudinal member (4) IMPORTANT Only on version without end plate (2).

Hand riveting tool (for blind pop rivets)
 
Multifunction device (spot welding)
 
Inert gas welder

14 Unfasten vehicle from straightening bench    
15 Lift vehicle with two-post lifting platform Two-post lifting platform, 2.5 - 3.5 t electrohydraulic
 
 
16 Remove straightening bench.    
17 Clean weld joints and sheet metal flanges with rotary wire brush Round wire brush
 
 
18 Clean repair area Wet and dry vacuum cleaner

19 Prime repair area with primer filler IMPORTANT Use only primer filler approved by Daimler AG.

20 Carry out seam sealing after repairs IMPORTANT Supplement standard seam seal.
