	Remove/install
1	Remove pistons	ENGINE 642 in MODEL 204	AR03.10-P-7021CO
1	Remove pistons	ENGINE 642 in MODEL 207, 212, 218, 222	AR03.10-P-7021SXI
2	Determine side clearance of piston rings (1, 2, 3)	Use feeler gauge.
2	Determine side clearance of piston rings (1, 2, 3)	Piston ring vertical clearance	*BE03.10-P-1003-02B
3	Remove piston rings (1, 2, 3) from piston	Note the installation position of piston rings (1, 2, 3). The lettering "Top" or the name of the manufacturer must point towards the piston crown. Insert hook spring (8) with garter spring (4) offset 180° to the ring gap of the piston ring (3) (arrow). Install piston rings (1, 2) with the ring gaps offset by 120°.
3	Remove piston rings (1, 2, 3) from piston	Pliers	Figure
4	Determine the end gap of the piston rings (1, 2, 3)	Use feeler gauge. Insert respective piston ring (1, 2, 3) into unused area of the cylinder barrel.
4	Determine the end gap of the piston rings (1, 2, 3)	Piston ring end gap	*BE03.10-P-1004-02B
5	Install in the reverse order
