Assign crankshaft bearing shells - AR03.20-P-4360-01CD

ENGINE 651 

1. Clean bearing points in crankcase, in the main bearing cap and in the main bearing journal of the crankshaft using a chamois leather.

   If bearing damage has occurred, it may be necessary to remove any swarf from the oil duct, the conrod bore holes and crankshaft oil ducts and the crankcase. Do not use and sharp-tipped or sharp-edged objects to clean it. Blow compressed air through oil ducts in the flow direction of the engine oil.

2. Assign the crankshaft bearing shells to the crankcase.

   The crankshaft bearing shells are marked on the side with the colors blue, yellow and red. The marking (1) for the assignment of crankshaft bearing shells is located at the left on the crankcase. Assign the crankshaft bearing shell according to the letters.

   Letters definition: 

   • The letter B represents the color marking blue.
   • The letter G represents the color marking yellow.
   • The letter R represents the color marking red.

   The marking (2) on the crankshaft bearing cap takes place for assignment of the crankshaft bearing shells to crank web 1 (3).

   Assign the crankshaft bearing shell according to the letters.

   Letters definition: 

   • The letter B represents the color marking blue.
   • The letter G represents the color marking yellow.
   • The letter R represents the color marking red.
3. Engine 651 with code B01 (ECO start/stop function)

   Assign the crankshaft bearing shells to the crankcase.

   For vehicles with a Start-Stop function there are different main bearings installed. The upper half of a higher order is mounted on bearing 1.
