Mirror lens adjustment left/right outside mirror, function - GF88.79-P-2008FL
MODEL 212
Function requirements, general
- Circuit 15R ON or circuit 15 ON
- No overvoltage or undervoltage
- Storage of mirror glass position not active
- Valid mirror selection available
The electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) sends the status of circuit 15 over the interior CAN (CAN B) to the front door control unit (N69/1).
Mirror lens adjustment left/right outside mirror, general
The mirror glass in the left outside mirror (M211) and right outside mirror (M212) can be adjusted electrically.
The left/right outside mirror glass adjustment comprises the following partial functions:
- Adjust mirror glass function sequence
- Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass position (with code (275) Electrically adjustable front seats, memory package)
Adjust mirror glass function sequence
The corresponding outside mirror is selected via the left outside mirror adjustment switch (S20s10) or right mirror adjustment switch (S20s11). The selected outside mirror is displayed by an LED in the corresponding outside mirror adjustment switch.
The selected outside mirror can be adjusted to the desired position with the outside mirror adjustment switch S20s12. The position can be adjusted horizontally and vertically.
The left door control unit reads in the adjustment request for the corresponding outside mirror via the left front door LIN (LIN B5) and transmits the request for the right outside mirror via the interior CAN to the right front door control unit (N692).
Simultaneously the left front door control unit transmits a signal for visual feedback via the LED in the corresponding outside mirror adjustment switch to the power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group (driver) (S20) via the left front door LIN.
The left front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M211m1) and horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M211m2).
The right front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor (M212m1) and horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor (M212m2).
Function sequence for storing/calling mirror glass position (with code (275) Electrically adjustable front seats, memory package)
The partial function calling/storing mirror glass position comprises the following subfunctions:
- Store mirror glass position function sequence
- Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
Store mirror glass position function sequence
There are two buttons for storing via the left front seat adjustment switch group (S22):
- Press and hold down left front memory function switch (S22s6). Then press left front memory switch 1 (S22s7), left front memory switch 2 (S22s8) or left front memory switch 3 (S22s9).
- Press left front memory switch function for t > 100 ms. Then press left front memory switch 1, left front memory switch 2 or left front memory switch 3 within t = 0.2 to 3 s.
The status of the memory function switch is read in by the left front door control unit over the left front door LIN.
The mirror position is stored in the left front door control unit and right front door control unit based on the data from the following potentiometers:
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M211r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M211r3)
- Vertical inclination adjustment potentiometer (M212r2)
- Horizontal inclination adjustment potentiometer (M212r3)
Parallel to this the position of the driver seat and steering column are stored in the driver sear control unit (N321).
Successful storage is acknowledged by the instrument cluster (A1) with an acknowledgment tone.
Retrieve mirror glass position function sequence
A stored mirror position can be called up via one of the memory switches.
For this purpose, actuate one of the memory switches until the stored position is reached.
Actuation of the corresponding memory switch is read in by the left front door control unit via the left front door LIN and transmitted to the driver seat control unit via the interior CAN. The driver seat control unit transmits the request "Actuate stored mirror glass position" to the left front door control unit via the interior CAN. The driver seat door control unit sends request "Actuate stored mirror glass position" over the interior CAN to the front door control unit.
The left front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor and the horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor.
The right front door control unit actuates the vertical inclination adjustment actuator motor and the horizontal inclination adjustment actuator motor.
