Remove/install sealing for crank window on front door - AR72.10-P-1905CY

REMOVING Removing     
DANGER Risk of injury  caused by fingers being pinched or crushed  when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lids, liftgates or sliding roof Keep body parts and limbs well clear of moving parts. AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
1 Completely open crank window (3)    
2 Remove outer sealing strip (2)    
3 Remove outside mirror Model 166.8  
Model 166.0 AR88.70-P-9000GZ
Model 212 AR88.70-P-9000CW
4 Remove clip (4) Model 204  
5 Carefully pry out trim strip (1a) on window guide seal (1) Model 166.8

6 Pull section (B) of window guide seal (1) out of window frame in area of cover (7) until bolts (9) are accessible    
7 Remove bolts (9) and take off cover (7) upward from window frame    
8 Lift window guide seal (1) out of groove in window frame in the flocked upper section (C) with assembly wedge (5) as shown SPECIAL TOOL Assembly wedge Figure
9 Lift upper section (C) on window guide seal (1) out of window frame with assembly wedge (5) NOTES Lift carefully; window guide seal (1) can bend easily in upper section area (A) and must be then be replaced.

10 Pull front section (A) of window guide seal (1) upward out of front door (8) and remove window guide seal (1)    
INSTALLING Install     
11 Move crank window (3) up to position shown (arrow D)    
12 Apply coat of soap solution to front section (A) located below beltline after installation NOTES Ensure that soap solution does not penetrate into the window guides. Danger of soiling the window guides in the window guide seal (1).
IMPORTANT Soap solution has the required lubrication characteristics for the installation.
 
13 Slide front section (A) along front edge of crank window (3) downward    
14 Loosely position upper section (C) on window frame    
15 Apply coat of soap solution to front section (B) located below beltline after installation NOTES Ensure that soap solution does not penetrate into the window guides. Danger of soiling the window guides in the window guide seal (1).  
16 Position window guide seal (1) in rear upper corner of window frame IMPORTANT On model 204, ensure that window guide seal (1) is seated correctly in lug (6) on window frame paneling as shown.  
17 Apply antifriction agent to rear of cover (7) and slide cover (7) onto window frame from top Antifriction agent *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
18 Tighten bolts (9)    
19 Slide rear section (B) along rear edge of crank window (3) downward    
20 Insert remaining rear section (B) into cover with aid of lubricant (7) IMPORTANT The window guide seal (1) should make contact over the entire length with the cover (7) without gap.  
Antifriction agent *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
21 Apply lubricant in upper section (C), align window guide seal (1) and clip upper section (C) to window frame starting on inside NOTES Carefully install window guide seal (1), window guide seal (1) can bend easily in the upper section (A) and must then be replaced.
IMPORTANT When aligning, ensure that the upper rear corner of the window guide seal (1) is flush with the cover (7) (arrows E).

22 Insert remaining front section (A) into window frame with aid of lubricant Antifriction agent *BR00.45-Z-1010-06A 
23 Check whether window guide seal (1) is seated correctly in window frame, if applicable, correct with assembly wedge (5) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly wedge Figure
24 Position window guide seal (1) below door frame seal (arrow F)    
25 Insert trim strip (1a) into window guide rail (1) Model 166.8  
26 Install new clip (4) on window guide seal (1) Model 204  
27 Install outside mirror Model 166.8

28 Install outer sealing strip (2)    
29 Completely close crank window (3); ensure that crank window (3) runs correctly into window guides of window guide seal (1)
