Antitheft alarm system (ATA [EDW]), general
The ATA [EDW] monitors the non-actuated state of all relevant inputs after locking the vehicle with the central locking (CL). If a change of status is detected at one of the monitored inputs, an acoustic and visual alarm is given. The rear SAM control unit is the master control unit for the ATA [EDW].
The ATA [EDW], when armed, monitors:
- Doors
- Trunk lid (model 212.0/1) or liftgate (model 212.2)
- Engine hood
- Alarm siren (up to 31.5.10, as of 1.6.10 without code (494) USA version)
- Position change of vehicle (tow-away protection) (with code (882) Interior monitoring (only with ATA [EDW]))
- Motion in interior compartment (interior protection) (with code (882) Interior monitoring (only with ATA [EDW]))
- Rear side windows and rear window (model 212.2 with code (882) interior monitoring (only with ATA))
