Remove/install starter - AR15.30-P-7100SXI

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
NOTES Notes on self-locking nuts and bolts   AH00.00-N-0001-01A
1 Disconnect battery ground line Model 207, 212, 218 AR54.10-P-0003EW
Model 221 AR54.10-P-0003SX
2 Remove bottom sections of soundproofing Model 221 without code (Z07) Top protection AR61.20-P-1105SX
Model 207, 212, 218 AR94.30-P-5300EW
3 Remove temperature sensor for catalytic converter (3) Model 221 with engine 642.9 AR07.04-P-0004SXI
4 Remove bracket on catalytic converter (3) Model 221  
5 Remove heat shield from central connector at transmission Model 221  
6 Detach oil line connection on transmission Model 221
IMPORTANT Do not fully pull oil line out of the connection. Detaching only serves to achieve better accessibility to the starter screw.
 
7 Remove electrical cable circuit 30 (1) IMPORTANT To do this, pull off contact protection.  
TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.30-P-1001-01N 
8 Remove electrical cable terminal 50 (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.30-P-1002-01N 
9 Remove bolts (4) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.30-P-1003-01N 
10 Remove starter (M1) from below    
INSPECT Checking     
11 Check ring gear for wear and check for damage IMPORTANT Rotate engine at crankshaft in direction of rotation.  
12 Install in the reverse order    
13 Carry out function check    
14 Read out and erase fault memory using STAR DIAGNOSIS IMPORTANT Stored faults which may be caused by assembly work, test work, removed lines or a simulation, must be processed and erased in fault memories after completing the work. AD00.00-P-2000-04A
