Remove/install knock sensors - AR15.12-P-2184CMG

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off the lifting platform. Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
NOTES Information on preventing damage to electronic components due to electrostatic discharge   AH54.00-P-0001-01A
  Remove left knock sensor (A16/2)     
1 Remove heat shield (2) by unscrewing bolt (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.10-P-1002-02C 
2 Release and disconnect electrical connector on knock sensor (A16/2)    
3 Unscrew bolt (3) and remove knock sensor (A16/2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.10-P-1001-02C 
  Remove right knock sensor (A16/1)     
4 Detach ground line from battery NOTES Insulate ground line clamp as a protection against unintentional contact of ground line with ground point of battery.

5 Remove front engine cover and both engine air intake ducts NOTES Do not tilt front engine cover, but lift upwards vertically otherwise the retaining lugs can break off.  
6 Remove bottom engine compartment paneling    
7 Remove bolts (4) of front engine mounts (5, 6) on front axle carrier Model 204 only AR22.10-P-1260CMG
8 Loosen right engine mount (5) from engine support by loosening bolt For model 212, remove heat shield AR22.10-P-1260CMG
9 Mount engine hoist Model 204 only AR33.10-P-0105CW
10 Raise engine Model 204 only
IMPORTANT Ensure that engine and its detachable components are not lying against the body! Do not over-tension coolant lines and electric cables!
 
11 Unscrew loosened bolt from the right engine mount (5) at the engine support from the bottom and place engine mount along with the heat shield to one side Model 204 only
IMPORTANT Do not remove catalytic converter.

12 Remove protection against accidental contact for circuit 30 electrical line from starter   AR15.30-P-7100CMG 
13 Remove electrical line terminal 30 and electrical line clamping device 50 on starter and place to one side   AR15.30-P-7100CMG 
14 Unscrew bolt (1) and remove heat shield (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.10-P-1002-02C 
15 Release and disconnect electrical connector on knock sensor (A16/1)    
16 Unscrew bolt (3) and remove knock sensor (A16/1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION *BA15.10-P-1001-02C 
17 Install in the reverse order    
18 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read fault memory    
DANGER Risk of accident  caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury  caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near the engine as it is running Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving by itself.
Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes.
Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

19 Carry out engine test run
