Remove/install circulation pump for low-temperature water circuit - AR09.41-P-6925MMB

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A

2.2 Drain coolant in low-temperature circuit Vehicles with code (139) Measures for engine cooling M157/M278

    IMPORTANT The coolant drain plug for the low-temperature circuit is located in the low-temperature circuit hose package at the front right in engine compartment.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir is located under the center engine cover.
 
3 Detach electrical connection (2) from charge air cooler circulation pump (M44)    
4 Unscrew nuts (8) and remove air duct (7) Vehicles with code (139) Measures for engine cooling M157/M278  
5.1 Remove screw/bolt (3) and remove the bracket (4) Vehicles without code (139) Measures for engine cooling M157/M278  
5.2 Remove screw/bolt (3) and remove charge air cooler circulation pump (M44) together with bracket (4) and elastomer bearing from bracket on longitudinal member Vehicles with code (139) Measures for engine cooling M157/M278  
6 Detach hoses (5, 6) on charge air cooler circulation pump (M44)    
7 Remove circulation pump for charge air cooler (M44)    
8 Install in the reverse order    
INSPECT Check     
9.1 Check cooling system for leaktightness Vehicles without code (139) Measures for engine cooling M157/M278

IMPORTANT Attach tester cap on low-temperature circuit coolant expansion reservoir and apply test pressure to low-temperature circuit.

DANGER Risk of accident  from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury  (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running. Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts. AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
10 Perform an engine test run; check cooling system for function and leaktightness
