Remove/install multidisk brake B05 and multidisk brake B06 - AR27.50-P-0616EWM

IMPORTANT Notes on automatic transmission   AH27.19-P-0001-01NKB
REMOVING Remove     
1 Detach transmission housing (1) from torque converter housing   AR27.50-P-0601EWM 
NOTES Cleanliness is essential when working on the transmission.
Otherwise, even the smallest foreign particle in the hydraulic components of the transmission can lead to malfunctions or a total failure of the transmission.
IMPORTANT For cleaning, use lint-free cleaning cloth. Chamois leathers are the most suitable.
2 Mount transmission housing (1) onto assembly device (2) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 5
  Multidisk brake B05     
3 Remove retaining ring (3)    
4 Remove clutch pack B05 (4)    
5 Mount threaded rod (6), pressure plate (7) and thumb screw (8) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 5
6 Tighten thumb screw (8) and remove L-section ring (9) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Tighten thumb screw (8) far enough until L-section ring (9) is exposed.

7 Remove disk spring (10) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation position.  
8 Remove piston (12)    
9 Remove piston ring (11) from piston (12) IMPORTANT Check piston ring (11) for damage and replace, if necessary.  
  Multidisk brake B06     
10 Remove retaining ring (13)    
11 Remove clutch pack B06 (5)    
12 Detach threaded rod (6) and mount thrust ring (14) with thumb screw (8) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The cutout of the thrust ring (14) must line up with the cutout of the retaining ring (15).

13 Tighten thumb screw (8) and remove retaining ring (15) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Tighten thumb screw (8) far enough until retaining ring (15) is exposed.

14 Remove disk spring (16) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation position.  
15 Remove coupling flange (17) IMPORTANT Check coupling flange (17) for damage and replace, if necessary.  
16 Apply some compressed air through the center hole on the transmission housing (1) and remove piston (18) IMPORTANT Seal the other holes while doing so.
IMPORTANT Wear safety glasses while doing so.		  
INSTALLING Install     
  Multidisk brake B06     
17 Insert piston (18) IMPORTANT Replace sealing rings (19, 20). Apply light coating of oil to new sealing rings (19, 20).  
18 Insert coupling flange (17) into transmission housing (1) IMPORTANT Install components in correct positions. The lugs or cutouts must face forwards.  
19 Insert disk spring (16) into transmission housing (1) IMPORTANT Install components in correct positions.  
20 Insert assembly sleeve (21) and place retaining ring (15) around assembly sleeve (21) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 5
21 Mount assembly sleeve (22) onto assembly sleeve (21) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 5
22 Tighten thumb screw (8) through assembly sleeve (22) until retaining ring (15) latches into place IMPORTANT Check for correct seating and installation position. The cutout must face forward.

23 Detach thumb screw (8), assembly sleeve (21) and assembly sleeve (22) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 5
MEASURING Measure     
24 Measure and adjust clearance    
25 Insert clutch pack B06 (5) into transmission housing (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Make sure that it is installed at the correct position. The lugs (arrows) must always face forwards.  
26 Insert retaining ring (13) into transmission housing (1)    
  Multidisk brake B05     
27 Insert piston ring (11) into piston (12)    
28 Insert piston (12) into transmission housing (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Make sure that it is installed at the correct position. The hole on the piston (12) must line up with the hole on the transmission housing (1).  
29 Insert disk spring (10) into transmission housing (1) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Pay attention to installation position.  
30 Mount threaded rod (6), pressure plate (7) and thumb screw (8) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 5
31 Insert L-section ring (9) into transmission housing (1) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Tighten thumb screw (8) far enough until L-section ring (9) can be correctly inserted.
IMPORTANT Ensure correct seating.

MEASURING Measure     
32 Measure and adjust clearance

34 Insert clutch pack B05 (4) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Make sure that it is installed at the correct position. The lugs (arrows) must always face forwards.  
35 Install retaining ring (3)    
36 Remove transmission housing (1) from assembly device (2) SPECIAL TOOL Assembly tool Fig 5
37 Install transmission housing at torque converter housing   AR27.50-P-0601EWM
