IMPORTANT Notes on automatic transmission   AH27.19-P-0001-01NKB
REMOVING Remove
1 Remove main components of transmission   AR27.50-P-0610W
DISASSEMBLING Disassemble
2 Remove retaining ring (105s) and end disk (105)
3 Remove clutch pack (5) and disk spring (5t) Check individual disks for scorch marks and wear, if necessary:

Replace clutch pack (5).

4 Place multidisk brake into lever press Workshop press (stationary)
5 Place thrust device onto disk spring (15t) in external plate carrier (15a) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Position thrust device precisely (see arrow in second picture) to enable retaining ring (15s) to be removed later.
SPECIAL TOOL Pressing tool Figure
SPECIAL TOOL Set of drifts Figure
6 Actuate lever press until retaining ring (15s) is exposed NOTES Stop lever press stoke as soon as accessibility to groove is sufficient.
Otherwise excessive clamping forces will result in damage to the plate carrier.

7 Remove retaining ring (15s) from groove
8 Move back lever press
9 Remove thrust device and multidisk brake from lever press
10 Remove retaining ring (15s)
11 Remove disk spring (15t)
12 Remove piston (15k) from external plate carrier (15a) IMPORTANT Check vulcanized seal.
INSPECT Check
13 Check external plate carrier (15a) for wear and damage IMPORTANT Depending on the production date, an external plate carrier without inner phase (1) or an external plate carrier with inner phase (2) is installed (see third picture). This is why it is necessary to note the parts information in the EPC later on when installing a new retaining ring (15s).
ASSEMBLING Assemble
14 Install piston (15k)
15 Install disk spring (15t) IMPORTANT Insert disk spring (15t) in such a way that the curvature of the inner circumference points toward the piston (15k).
16 Fit retaining ring (15s) NOTES Always note parts information in the EPC. Otherwise proper operation of the multidisk brake cannot be ensured.
IMPORTANT Final installation is only possible when the lever press is actuated.

17 Place multidisk brake into lever press
18 Place thrust device on disk spring (15t) IMPORTANTSPECIAL TOOL Position thrust device precisely (see arrow in second picture) to enable retaining ring (15s) to be installed.

19 Actuate lever press until groove of retaining ring (15s) is exposed NOTES Stop lever press stoke as soon as accessibility to groove is sufficient.
Otherwise excessive clamping forces will result in damage to the plate carrier.

20 Install retaining ring (15s) NOTES Note the installation position of the retaining ring (15s).
If incorrectly installed the disk spring (5t) jams and malfunctions occur.

21 Move back lever press
22 Remove thrust device and multidisk brake from lever press
23 Install disk spring (5t) and disk pack (5) into external plate carrier (15a) IMPORTANT Insert disk spring (5t) in such a way that curvature of the inner circumference points toward the piston (15k).
Observe insertion sequence when inserting disks:
