Remove/install valve springs and/or valve stem seals - AR05.30-P-3500SXI

	Remove/install
1	Remove camshafts	ENGINE 642 in MODEL 222	AR05.20-P-6992LFD
		ENGINE 642 in MODEL 207, 212, 218, 221	AR05.20-P-6992SXI
2	Remove compensation elements		AR05.00-P-2011SXI
3	Position piston of cylinder to be machined at top dead center (TDC)	Rotate engine at crankshaft in direction of engine rotation.
4	Connect cylinder leakage tester (2) to cylinder to be processed	Connect adapter "R14" from the compression pressure recorder set with the connector (1) and insert connector (1) into the injector bore. the connection piece (1) is secured using the original clamping claw. Remove check valve. Subject compression chamber of cylinder to a pressure of about 5 bar. Cylinder leakage tester (pressure loss)

5	Put together assembly tool valves (3) and install on the cylinder head	Screw in retaining fork at edge of cylinder head in the thread and fit thrust piece vertically on the upper valve spring retainer (4).

6	Press together valve spring (5) with assembly tool valves (3)	Valve assembly tools kit	Figure
7	Remove valve keepers (6)	Use magnetic pin (7). Ensure the valve keepers (6) are reliably seated.

8	Remove upper valve spring retainer (4) and valve springs (5)	Valves must not rest on the piston crown. Check upper valve spring retainer (4) for pitting; replace if required.
9	Remove valve stem seals (8) with pliers (10)		AR05.30-P-3500-02TI
		Check valve stems for ridging, remove burrs if required. Oil valve stem seals (8) and press on with an assembly drift (9).

10	Install in the reverse order
	Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.	Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.	AS00.00-Z-0005-01A
