Retrofit COMAND APS with DVD changer - AN82.85-P-0004EWN

CD changer) without CODE 523 (MB Audio 20 radio)

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove COMAND controller unit (A40/3)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR82.60-P-7502EW
    IMPORTANT Remove COMAND controller unit (A40/3).  
INSTALLING Install     
2 Install new COMAND controller unit (A40/3)    
REFER TO TESTING & REPAIR     AR82.60-P-7502EW
3 Enter special equipment in online vehicle data card using the vehicle documentation system (VeDoc) IMPORTANTDelete: 
  • CODE 527 (COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation))

Add: 
  • CODE 512 (COMAND APS with DVD changer)
  
4 Document retrofitted equipment in VeDoc IMPORTANT Attach "COMAND APS with DVD changer retrofitted as per AN82.85-P-0004EWN " note under the field organization texts to design group 82.  
5 Connect diagnostic system and select vehicle via the vehicle identification number (VIN)    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
6 Perform variant coding with XENTRY using the software calibration number (SCN) IMPORTANT Variant coding with XENTRY using the software calibration number (SCN) must be carried out for the following control units:
  • "COMAND controller unit (A40/3) with DVD changer"
  • "Instrument cluster"
  • "Front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module"
  
7 Disconnect diagnostic system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS     AD00.00-P-2000-04A
8 Perform function test IMPORTANT See operator's manual for COMAND controller unit (A40/3) incl. DVD changer.
