DISASSEMBLINGASSEMBLING Disassemble/assemble
3 Unscrew bolts (1) and remove leaf springs (2) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, valves to electrohydraulic controller unit *BA27.19-P-1007-01C
4 Carefully pull control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) out of fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8)
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Automatic transmission fluids (ATF, Specification 236.15). See https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1
NOTESAssembly:  The Specifications for Operating Fluids must be strictly observed. Otherwise damage will occur.
IMPORTANTDisassemble:  Put the control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) to one side such that they cannot be mixed up.
IMPORTANTAssembly:  Install each control solenoid valve (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valve (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) at the original installation location.
Moisten O-rings with transmission oil.
5 Unscrew bolts (3) and remove fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4) from valve body assembly (4) IMPORTANTAssembly:  Make sure that the retaining lug (arrow) is seated correctly in the valve body assembly (4).

INSPECT Check
6 Determine degree of soiling of control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) IMPORTANT If more than 4 control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) are damaged or soiled, the Market Performance Center (MPC) or general distributor (GV) must be informed and they will then decide how to proceed.
IMPORTANT If there are traces of abrasion or soiling (picture A, picture B), the control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) must be rinsed out.
IMPORTANT If there are no traces of abrasion or soiling (picture C), rinsing is not necessary.

CLEAN Clean
7 Clean sieves of control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) If necessary
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Automatic transmission fluids (ATF, Specification 236.15). See https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1
NOTES To clean, use only fresh transmission oil and do not use compressed air, rags, brake cleaner, etc..
The Specifications for Operating Fluids must be strictly observed.
Otherwise damage will occur.
IMPORTANT Clean the sieves of the control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) carefully using a magnet. Then clean the sieves by rinsing them in fresh transmission oil until the wear debris and dirt are removed.
INSPECT Check
8 Check control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) for cleanliness and damage IMPORTANT If no soiling or damage is visible (picture B, picture C), the control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) can be reused.
If soiling or damage is visible (picture A), the affected control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) must be replaced.

9 Check seats of control solenoid valves (Y3/8y1 to Y3/8y9) and switchover valves (Y3/8y10, Y3/8y11) in valve body assembly (4) IMPORTANT Check the seats for soiling.
If necessary:

Turn valve body assembly (4) upside down and rinse out any dirt.
NOTES To clean, use only fresh transmission oil and do not use compressed air, rags, brake cleaner, etc..
The Specifications for Operating Fluids must be strictly observed.
Otherwise damage will occur.

10 Check O-rings (5a, 5b)
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Automatic transmission fluids (ATF, Specification 236.15). See https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1
NOTES The Specifications for Operating Fluids must be strictly observed.
Otherwise damage will occur.
IMPORTANT Check condition and correct seating, replace if necessary.
Moisten the new O-rings (5a, 5b) with transmission oil.
11 Assemble in the reverse order
INSTALLING Install
12 Install fully integrated transmission control controller unit (Y3/8)   AR27.19-P-0200EH
IMPORTANT Check that the seal (6a) is seated correctly.
Check that the seal (6b) is in good condition and seated correctly; replace if necessary.
13 Transfer characteristics from diagnostic system to fully integrated transmission control unit (Y3/8n4)
