DANGER Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of injury  to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning  from swallowing coolant. Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

INSPECT Check
1 Remove interior flap above engine   AR88.40-P-1100-03MCC
2 Turn cooling system cap (1) on radiator (2) a half turn counterclockwise, relieve the overpressure and then unscrew the cap (1)
3 Check coolant level in cooler (2), correct if necessary
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Coolant specifications   Coolant (Specification 310.1). See https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1
REFER TO CAPACITIES & SPECIFICATIONS Anticorrosion/antifreeze agents (Sheet 325.0) IMPORTANT Fill the cooling system up to the upper edge of the radiator (2). Anticorrosion/antifreeze agents (Specification 325.0). See https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/index.php?language_id=1
4 Connect pressure pump to radiator (2) SPECIAL TOOL Pressure pump Figure
5 Apply a pressure of a max. 1.6 bar to the cooling system
6 Observe pressure gauge for the pressure pump for a pressure drop in the cooling system
7 Check all components of cooling system for leaks; establish coolant loss IMPORTANT Remove the cause of the coolant loss if necessary; then repeat the checking.
