DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVING Remove     
1 Remove foot support on passenger side MODEL 451.4## 1# AR68.30-P-1340MCC
    MODEL 451.4## 2# AR68.30-P-1340MCE
2 Connect charger to battery IMPORTANT Use the charger to ensure that an adequate power supply (min. 12.5 V) is provided for the on-board electrical system battery.  
3.1 Remove left and right paneling from roof frame MODEL 451.4
without CODE 494 (US version)
* not for USA

Remove/install side roof frame paneling
AR68.30-P-4480MCO
3.2 Remove left and right paneling from B-pillar MODEL 451.4
with CODE 494 (US version)
* for USA only

Remove/install paneling on B-pillar
AR68.30-P-4700MCV
4 Remove front roof frame paneling * for USA only

Remove/install front roof frame paneling
* not for USA
AR68.30-P-4450MCV
    Remove/install front roof frame paneling AR68.30-P-4450MCO
5 Remove trim from C-pillar   AR68.30-P-4505MCO
INSPECT Check     
6 Check basic setting of soft top, adjust if necessary   AR77.30-P-1010-08MCO
    Pin of upper soft top support to body bore hole *BE77.30-P-1007-02A 
    Lower edge of upper soft top support to body bore hole *BE77.30-P-1006-02A 
    Lateral misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1003-02A 
    Height misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1002-02A 
    Longitudinal misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1001-02A 
  Adjust     
7 Adjust side offset on side support (2) and roof cassette If the side offset must be adjusted. AR77.30-P-1010-04MCO
    Pin of upper soft top support to body bore hole *BE77.30-P-1007-02A 
    Lower edge of upper soft top support to body bore hole *BE77.30-P-1006-02A 
    Lateral misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1003-02A 
8 Adjust upper B-pillar soft top support (3) Of the longitudinal offset or height offset must be adjusted. AR77.30-P-1010-03MCO
    Height misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1002-02A 
    Longitudinal misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1001-02A 
9 Adjust lower B-pillar soft top support (5) If the longitudinal and height offset is still within the permissible tolerance after adjusting the upper B-pillar soft top support (3). AR77.30-P-1010-02MCO
    Height misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1002-02A 
    Longitudinal misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1001-02A 
10 Adjust B-pillar soft top support (1) If the longitudinal offset is still outside the tolerance after adjusting the upper B-pillar soft top support (3) and lower B-pillar soft top support (5). AR77.30-P-1010-01MCO
    Insertion depth of mounting frame bow for soft top in front side support bearing *BE77.30-P-1005-02A 
    Insertion depth of soft top to roof peak seal *BE77.30-P-1004-02A 
    Longitudinal misalignment between side support and roof cassette *BE77.30-P-1001-02A 
11 Remove side support (2) and insert foam padding (6) below cover (4) in crosshatched area. IMPORTANT This adjusts the side support torsion (2) in relation to the roof cassette (arrow).  
12 Adjust contact pressure of roof peak with diagnostic system If the minimum dimension for the immersion depth of the soft top in relation to the roof peak seal is not reached. AR77.30-P-1010-06MCO
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory   AD00.00-P-2000-04MCC
    Insertion depth of soft top to roof peak seal *BE77.30-P-1004-02A 
13 Relieve tension on folding roof If the minimum dimension for the immersion depth of the soft top in relation to the roof peak seal is not reached after increasing the contact pressure. AR77.30-P-1102MCO 
14 Adjust roof peak for sealing If the immersion depth of the soft top in relation to the roof peak seal does corresponding the requirement adjustment dimension after increasing the contact pressure. AR77.30-P-1010-05MCO
    Insertion depth of soft top to roof peak seal *BE77.30-P-1004-02A 
15 Tension folding roof and adjust immersion depth of soft top in relation to roof peak seal If the immersion depth of the soft top in relation to the roof peak seal does corresponding the requirement adjustment dimension after increasing the contact pressure. AR77.30-P-1102MCO 
    Insertion depth of soft top to roof peak seal *BE77.30-P-1004-02A 
16 Adjust rear soft top retaining clip   AR77.30-P-1151-01MCO
17 Check soft top for proper function and perform visual inspection If malfunction or deviations are present

Repeat adjustment procedure.
 
INSTALLING Install     
18 Install molding onto C-pillar   AR68.30-P-4505MCO
19.1 Install left and right paneling on roof frame MODEL 451.4

Remove/install paneling on B-pillar

20 Install front roof frame paneling * for USA only

Remove/install front roof frame paneling

21 Connect charger to battery
