DANGER Risk of death  when touching components on vehicles with high-voltage on-board electrical system Do not touch components and open lines of the high-voltage on-board electrical system. Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Remove transmitter key and mains plug    
2 Connect Star Diagnosis and disconnect HV system    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT Print out power disable event log and add to the vehicle file.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Activate high-voltage system.

3 Disconnect ground line of 12 V battery   AR54.10-P-0003MCC 
4 Remove cover (2)    
5 Unscrew nuts (3), remove electrical lines (4, 5) from threaded pins and place to one side    
6 Disconnect terminal clamp (6) of charge line (1) from 12 V battery    
7 Separate cable tie (7) INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace cable tie (7).  
8 Unclip cable tie holder (8) from battery holder NOTES
If the charge line (1) is to be reused, make sure that the cable tie holder (8) is not damaged during removal.
The cable tie holder (8) must otherwise be replaced.
IMPORTANT If a new charge line (1) is to be installed, the cable tie holder (8) is provided on the charge line (1).
 
9 Open prefuse cover (9), unscrew self-locking nuts (10) and remove 12 V charge line prefuse (F90) Only if the 12 V charge line prefuse (F90) is damaged.
IMPORTANT Replace self-locking nuts (10).
 
10 Press rubber grommet (11) out of battery box and guide out charge line (1)    
11 Remove interior flap above engine   AR88.40-P-1100-03MCC
12 Remove cap (12) and unscrew charge line (1) from power electronics control unit (N129/1)    
DANGER Risk of death  caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform. Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer. AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
13 Raise vehicle with vehicle lift    
14 Remove high-voltage battery   AR54.10-P-1140MEX 
15 Create access to charge line (1) on underfloor above high-voltage battery and along right front longitudinal member NOTES
If the charge line (1) is to be reused, make sure that the holders attached to the charge line (1) are not damaged during removal. Otherwise the corresponding holder must be replaced.
IMPORTANT If a new charge line (1) is to be installed, the holders are provided on the charge line (1).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Replace cable tie.
 
16 Detach cable tie holders (13) from transmission bracket (18) underneath refrigerant compressor and guide out charge line (1) toward front IMPORTANT If the charge line (1) is to be reused, install new cable tie holders (13).
IMPORTANT If a new charge line (1) is to be installed, the cable tie holders (13) are provided on the charge line (1).
 
17 Loosen screws/bolts (14, 15) on integral carrier (16) until chafe protection (17) can be pulled out IMPORTANT Undo the screws/bolts by max. 2 turns.
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, integral carrier to body
*BA35.10-P-1001-01F 
18 Remove charge line (1) toward front over integral carrier (16)    
19 Install in the reverse order
