Persons who wear electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not  carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems. AS54.00-Z-0001-01A
DANGER Risk of explosion  from explosive gas. Risk of poisoning and caustic burns  from swallowing battery electrolyte. Risk of injury  through burns to skin and eyes from battery acid or when handling damaged lead-acid batteries No fires, sparks, open flames or smoking. Wear acid-resistant gloves, clothing and glasses. Only pour battery acid into suitable and appropriately marked containers. AS54.10-Z-0001-01A

REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install     
1 Check condition of battery (G1), if necessary replace battery (G1) MODEL 451.391/491
If during the further course of work, work is to be conducted on the high-voltage vehicle electric system.
IMPORTANT On vehicles with CODE 527 (High-Line radio), before the ground line (1) is disconnected, it must be ensured that the radio code is available to allow the radio to be put into operation at a later stage.
IMPORTANT The high voltage system cannot be enabled if the battery (G1) is defective: Before replacing the battery (G1) on model 451.391/491, no further work may be performed on the high-voltage vehicle electrical system.

2.1 Carry out disconnection of high-voltage system MODEL 451.391/491
If during the further course of work, work is to be conducted on the high-voltage vehicle electric system.

2.2 Connect Star Diagnosis and disconnect HV system MODEL 451.390/490
If during the further course of work, work is to be conducted on the high-voltage vehicle electric system.
 
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS   IMPORTANT Print out power disable event log and add to the vehicle file.
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Activate high-voltage system.

3 Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory    
REFER TO SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEMS INSTALLATION IMPORTANT : Delete DTC memory if necessary.   AD00.00-P-2000-04MCC
4 Remove foot support on passenger side MODEL 451.3##/4##1# AR68.30-P-1340MCC
    MODEL 451.3##/4##2# AR68.30-P-1340MCE
5 Disconnect ground line (1) from the negative terminal of the battery (G1)    
6 Install in the reverse order    
7 Set time in the instrument cluster and on the additional instrument    
8 Enter radio code MODEL 451.3/4
with CODE 527 (High-Line radio)
 
9 Adapt audio settings MODEL 451.3/4
with CODE 527 (High-Line radio)
